Maplin stock them in a limited range of widths and colours and this store does a huge range of colour combinations:

I think Amazon do them. I looked when I got my P-touch from LiDL and remember finding them there. I was going to do an order the other day, combining with the 17th Ed OSG but discovered the useless cnuts at the IET still haven't got their act together on that one :-(

>> GBP11.39. That's more like it. Bookmarked.

You mean the deeplink didn't work? (It was Screwfix item 95516). I use it for labelling wallwarts too BTW!

I like these - write on the end then wrap round into a sleeve to make a durable laminated label.

A simple way to make writing direct on the cable work is to write it 3 or 4 times, putting each marking maybe 6" further along the cable. So far so good anyway! For ones that arent disturbed much that is.

Hopefully this URL will work:

have bough them from London Graphic Supplies and Rymans (I think).

They do come in different thickness and colours - gold, white and black AFAICR. The larger thicknesses have fibre nibs rather than steel.

I think that the trick is to look for any pen which has warning labels!

I don't write direct on the cable - I fold a ~4cm length of insulating tape flat around the cable, creating a 'tab' to write on.

Camera tape - which is a white linen backed stuff - has been used for this for years on a sound rig. With a magic marker etc those labels last for years of abuse.

That looks possible, too. Thanks.

I've been doing this with self-adhesive labels, but it looks terrible (this is a room in a domestic dwelling, after all) and they don't last very long.

Another goody. Thanks.
