I have a couple of battery chargers, one of which is dumb and the other smart. The dumb one is, of course, of no use for keeping a battery charged and ready for use, while the smart one requires selecting the charging option when powered up and keeps its screen lit and beeps continuously when connected to a battery, but not the mains.
I am looking at hard wiring a charger into my 57 year old Land Rover and feeding it via a caravan style fixed plug. Possibly with a second input for solar panels.
Does anyone know of a suitable charger or charger design - 24V, smart, with zero drain from the batteries when not connected to the mains, a secondary input for solar panels and automatically starting and charging/maintaining, when mains is connected or the sun is out?
