Today - 12 years on - it seems impossible to get a similar item for less than £37. And that includes all the online outlets. B&Qs current offering is £59.
Curious that this has defied the general trend/expectation of things being cheaper year-on-year ....
By inflation alone, it would by now be £42.60, so it is cheaper at ? ?37.
If it followed general trends ... but as a vaguely "tech" item, I wouldn't have expected the price to rise in real terms at all.
I bought a router for £35 two years ago. Can get similar specced item (original no longer supplied) from the same manufacturer for £20 now.
The things that have dropped in price have mainly been those with a high eelctronic content, suited to mass prodcution. A 12" tv set has been £50 (or thereabouts) since 1936.
