2 x Damp Questions

I had a chemical DPC put into the walls and it seems to have worked fine. No readings from the walls. However... this naturally has brought the dampness level back down and a few of the floorboards are registering as being slightly damp, not wet, just slightly darkened. I had a proper survey done (BWDPA) and he said that the floorboards' water content was 16-17% and so below the point at which fungal decay could occur. There's plenty of airflow beneath. No remedial work recommended.

Does that sound right? I'd very much like to get the carpet refitted!

Also, there's a patch in the kitchen where the water has risen up the wall as the DPC wasn't done correctly (it went round it :). There is a concrete floor either side. Is it ok to re-inject as near to the floor as possible or does the 150mm rule still apply?

Thanks very much.

Ed.

That's the level to which new softwood is dried before it's shipped. However, it's a little high for stuff that's been in a centrally heated environment for a while, where you would normally expect something under

10%.

Thanks. Is it worth getting it treated? If so, what's the most cost- effective way? :)

Also, can anyone answer my second question re the re-injection?

Cheers, Ed.
