replying to Leodbd, Iggy wrote: None, because you don't. You use proper fittings and sealing methods. Cast Iron is very brittle and needs a quite deep stub to seal into (jute and molten lead) or onto (rubber sleeve). Putting any lateral strain within a section of pipe will result in a crack and that section will then be entirely useless.
