A shop I saw had the electric shutter operated by a remote control - so no external locks. Wouldn't take long to pay for that if new locks are needed once a month.

Jammy to the point of being a spawny git, took it to my mates hire shop for a new chuck - didn't need one, it was just jammed open!
I'll try the model shop approach first and of that doesn't work I'll make one out of hard plastic. Tufnol as someone suggested.
The first rule of tool acquisition is if you don't buy it you will need next week when the shop is closed, if you do buy it you will never need it.
