Top Coat

I don't have rust issues (my shop is air conditioned), but I do use Johnson's Paste Wax to polish all my machines once a month.

Shop around for a new modern up to date system. Bite the bullet and get on with life. Consider what you would do if the Rod went out of the Family car.

Inexpensive Wrenches

Harbor Freight, Ace Hardware, garage sales, Cash Converters (franchised operation like a pawn shop only they just buy and sell used goodies including tools, etc.) Google to see if one's near you.
