Unless they have a market value of more than a couple of quid they will not be resaleable and the charity shop would rather not have them ! Freegle them or recycle.
Why are you going to a shop at all? 2/. Parked you car? the towns have made cars illegal. 3/. Sensible people use a desktop machine to order online instead.
I went to a reasonably reputable shop in the local town where a E European guy fixes phones. he charged £40. It seems to be a pukka replace and reglue event.
A sheet metal shop may have plasma and/or CNC plasma as well which will give you nice clean cuts for non-linear stuff that a shear can't do. Pete C.

Aldi is about the only useful shop we *don't* have - now that ToolStation has arrived to takes its place near Screwfix, Axminster, not far from Lidl, ... Oh! And Waitrose. Miles away. :-(

They're building it just down the road from our shop in Avonmouth. (BS11) Regularly see the guys and girls on a lunch tome popping into Parsons or Co-Op for sustenance. :¬)

If caught short, RS are much cheaper than Maplin for mains leads, cat5 cables etc, and it's easier to park at a trade counter than a shop on the high street ...
