how much wood do you have on hand in months or years

I have bought shop remodel/construction supplies: T1-11 si ding, facia boards, 1/2" CDX (for the interior sub-walls), 2X10s for making beams, and the like. I have a standby cache of 3/4" cabinet ply, some 1/ 2" CDX and some 1/4" & 3/8" luan, for whenever/whatever(?) needed.

Front Vise

That way you don't need to keep a hand free to grab the block when you loosen the vise, or pick it up off the floor.. I've also seen a shop that had a "top step" on each block, to prevent it from falling through... mac Please remove splinters before emailing

Solid wood filler?

If you drill-out the hole and glue in a "dowel" < eg. broom handle> - the dowel will turn free as you screw in the lag - you would need to square it . Moving the hinge or replacing it with a dufferent type might be the best bet.

Before you take it to a body shop get someone else to use the hose and check carefully from the inside whilst it?s getting sprayed. If you have a leaking seam in the roof you?re in with a chance of getting it repaired free. My bother?

Hermetically Sealed Bookcase (Reverse Humidor)

You'll want to go to a comic shop and get acid-free plastic bags to put them in before putting them in the sealer bag. That should, at least, preserve them until you solve your bookcase problem. BTW: Once you find a solution for the bookcase approach, post it here for others. ...

Mobile base for drill press, any ideas?

It was included "free" when I bought the bandsaw. I did see a neat shop-made mobile base with the plans in a (far back) issue of ShopNotes. It was based on a stick with two wheels and a hook on the end.
