Edge glued panels(oak)

I'm sure you can find a shop locally that would glue them up for you. Any shop that makes raised panels would probably do it....for a price. They may also have a sander large enough for the 20" panels. I also think you could do it yourself and get good results.

Painting celotex

The shop I've inherited (on the corner of our lot) was finished with celotex. I've tried painting it, but it is really absorbent. Also, where there had been water leaks from the ceiling, the celotex is discolored, and paint doesn't cover the stains.

How to repair/glue ABS tool case?

One source is Plastic Weld Cement or Plasweld from EMA Model Supplies: http://www.ema-models.com/shop/prodpages/page-PPC-2.htmlYour local model shop (although they are few and far between these days) might also stock it. I have been using it for years to weld various plastics.

What are some car-repair jobs you always wished you could do but have never done?

The one local shop that said they could do it on the 1970 Dodge pickup couldn't. I found another shop 20 miles away that said they could and actually did it -- I could feel it in the vastly-improved steering afterward. I watched the guy do it.

Chrome towel warmer - uniform heating?

Did you buy from the manufacturer directly, or from a shop? (technically speaking your contract is with the shop in which case) If it is working fine, get the plumber back to re-fit it, and pass the bill for couriers on to him!

What screws to use for shower grab rail?

My dad is getting unsteady on his feet, so I've been to the local mobility shop and bought a 12 inch plastic rail that I can fix to the bathroom tiled wall, in an ideal position where he can grab on to it when taking a shower.

New Green Baize Top for a Card Table?

I recently helped my mother refurbish her card table. THe top was made of hardboard and knocked out fairly easily from underneath. The top on this one was felt, not baize (baize has a woven substrate) and peeled off easily.

There HAS to be a twelve step program out there..................

The vincas had me down in the dumps, its rainy and cold and I had to pay bills, so I was really down in the dumps and then i got to read your message. It was truly inspiring and now I can't wait to get in my yard and work.
