Bloodwood

Walnut covers my shop with dark brown. Ipe covers my shop with yellowy green. And yes Bloodwood and Paduk make my shop red. Oddly after working with Ipe and using CMT Formula 2050 to clean my blades or bits the yellowy green dust turns in to a real blood color.

I have one and use it with my Delta 13 inch planer and a small shop vac. Works fine. Fills the barrel with shavings in a hurry and the shop vac seldom needs to be emptied.

Sealing Windshield

After some attempts of repair by the dealer and the a local auto glass shop (by back filling), I had the shop replace the windshield. Over time, a leaking windshield will cause the pinch weld on the body to rust (see Stubby's post above).

Stupid Store Employees / Inconsiderate Stores

If that shop is part of a chain, stop in the next day and ask for the name and number of the district manager. Then give that DM a call and ask him why that shop was closing early that evening.

That being said, he doesn't have to shop for the most expensive tech in the book, nor should he shop for the cheapest(as landlords are known to do).

How do you minimize rust on your jointer or table saw?

I use Johnson's Paste Wax and a dehumidifier in the shop, which works very well for me in Indianapolis.

Has Anyone Heard Of Makerspace? (A Community Woodworking (and more) Workshop)

Opposite of what I would think a community group shop would be. I envision a warehouse with tools in it. Every tool has 10 feet of empty space aroun d it. Working in a solo, one man shop that is cramped is one thing.

That's a call can't tell from those photo's; you'll probably get a good input from the shop guys. Which, btw, find a shop that does such stuff routinely not just a general purpose weld shop; you'll likely do far better. --

flourescent tubes in cold weather

I'm in the process of upgrading my shop to the new cold weather electronic ballasts that are suppose to work fine down to 0 degree..
