Washer Knob Repair

Just go to the manufacturers web site and order a replacement knob for about $5 + $5 shipping, or visit a local appliance parts store. The epoxy and time fussing with it cost far more than a new knob. Pete C.

Replacing window in masonry

The right approach is to have a mason come in and remove some stone, install the window per installation instructions (visit Pella's site for example) and then replace the stone by the mason. Anything else is a waste of money.

Old Woodworking Machines site is probably worth a visit, www.owwm.com Maybe post to rec.crafts.metalworking too - They seem to restore more old machines in there than we do here. Go easy on mechanical scraping for rust too - there are better ways.

Wall cavity full of sheetrock pieces

Some "dumps" won't even let you dispose of drywall there anymore. Those that do often charge more $$
