OT: using tablet as a Sat nav

Do in car satnavs update free of charge. I know my van 2012 has a SD card and iv to pay some ridiculous price to update it

[OT] Economics of cheaper slower postage from suppliers

I usually select the Ebuyer free delivery (5 days) and it often arrives sooner. Ordered a graphics card late Sunday night and it arrived an hour ago.

Nice temp shop. In good weather and with tolerant neighbors and a mobile base or two, it becomes the size of the drive at least temporarily.

Bl**dy UPS

Found a card from them - the parcel can be collected from a local shop after 5 pm. Except it's not local, or rather not within easy walking distance. Just as far away as the PO sorting office. I can see why UPS are taking business from RM. Cheaper by offering a poorer service.

[OT] Seek good supplier for cheap, basic memory

Rather than use a CD, I want to see if it is cheaper to give data to friends on a cheap USB stick or on an SD card plus reader. Has anyone made this comparison for the UK? I see cheap (and possibly not long-lasting) USB memory sticks can be had at £10 for five 1GB cards.

Free. The 6' solid wood chest of drawers was obtained via a Craigslist curb alert. Rock solid. Free. The 1 1/2" thick melamine topper for the chest of drawers came from my dentist's office when he remodeled a quarter century ago. Rock solid. Free. But!

OT : TV licensing - must I compy?

I wanted a second free view box and went to Asda's electrical shop to get another of the type that I had purchased late summer. This box had been sold to me without any mention of filling in a form, so I assumed that a second box would be the same formality to buy.
