weed identification

I'm looking for web sites that are fairly detailed in relation to weed identification. Plant sites would be helpful too. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Pax.

Cloth covered wiring - dangerous or ok?

Yes, expensive. 50's Romex almost certainly has individual conductors with TW (plastic) insulation. Unless subjected to high temps (like in ceiling fixture boxes), the conductor insulation should be good for a long time to come.

Multi-stranded mains cable

The present 'solid' 2.5mm TW&E came in around 1970. Metrication. Previous cable was 7 strands of 0.29". Still perfectly serviceable if in good condition. The lighting wiring is also likely stranded - 3 strands of the same diameter. Although a single larger strand (.044") was also used.

Lidl (Hunslet) OTOH had very good quality cheap fresh veg but a very limited selection which varies visit by visit. DG

that's the problem of having ships registered in Liberia which they never actually visit I don't think this happens with ships registered in sensible places that the ship does visit occasionally

Shaving off door bottom

Two of my local merchants have offcut bins. That's where I get the timber for mine. True, but if you have a circular saw you should have a sawboard.

Tesco Clearance

There are all sorts of useful, and incredibly inexpensive (normally costing much more, I'm sure) stuffs all in piled-up assorted paper bins in my local Tesco Extra.

Drawer Dividers

In the craft stores they have bins of Basswood in various thicknesses. Harder than balsa. I used to make dollhouse furniture from it when my girls were young.
