Clothes washer problem

Local shop said that there was an inherent problem with this tranny and if I replaced it, it would probably fail again. I offered to give them the machine for free but they did not even want to deal with it. I had owned it 7 months and ended up putting on the curb for free.

Guide to electric air compressors for home shops

What sort of shop would require a machine like that? I guess a production shop (or a shop where you were doing auto mechanic work) would need a large compressor but I think that would be overkill for most home woodworking workshops. What sort of tools do any of you using ...

Flying with the (legal) Eagles

Technology has all but supplanted shop class for many years now, at least in my experience. Sawstop is just one of the current excuses for why shop classes are almost non existent. It's a shame too. When shop classes were available, I actually wanted to go to school.

computer in wood shop

Yo u would have to do it more often in a shop environment. If it was me, I w ould run down a thrift-shop special and put it in the shop and move files t o a house machine with a flash drive. RonB

Inductive charging, how efficient?

The shop in west bromwich was fined for serving rat to a customer that just happened to work for trading standards. The shop became a fish and chip shop shortly after.

When does The Wood become Just A Material?

If I have to measure twice before cutting a piece of wood then there must be something wrong with my measuring skills or my shop procedures.

Trust my protractor?

Get one of those 30/60/90 plastic triangles, you know the one you had to have for shop class. My shop teacher required we learn 6 weeks of drafting before taking us into the machine shop.

Coming home from work and slithering into your shop to relax is a different animal. You, for example have been buying all kinds of nice tools for your giant shop. I highly recommend you build some nice cabinets for them, complete with drawers and such to store stuff.

Shop vac as dust collection

Modern shop Vacs like the two larger Festool models have HEPA filters. That is incorrect. The Festool and Fein are probably the quietest power tools in the shop. My corded drill will drown the out the noise of my Festool shop vac.
