Cooling the shop.

Home and shop A/C was working fine until about 6pm when I felt warm air coming out of the vent. Awshit. Took a listen outside and the condenser fan wasn't running but the A/C was. Hmm... Took a VOM out and found that the two fuses were fine and there was 239.8v across them. OK so far.

new shop update

Slab was poured as planned last Thursday, got all the totals for everything and come in slightly under budget at $2.60 sq ft. This included 75 tons stone for base, rebar for footing, prefab wire mats, sawing stress lines on 18' centers and some dirt work when the finishers cleaned up. Slab turned ...

shop smoke alarrm

Just about got the garage converted to a shop. Since it's attached to the house, I definitely want a dual sensor smoke alarm. But I need one that I can turn off when I'm out there working or it'd be false alarming all the time.

Shop vacuum pressure

I am going to use a rolling Shop-Vac (trade name) and 2.5" hose. I want to use it to pick up pecans to be easier on my back, and to put them into a 55 gallon barrel, making them more effective to handle. I know that some shop vac systems have piping that goes a long distance.

Closing shop -- prices?

After 37 years in the same location, my wife and I are thinking of selling the house and moving to a condo -- with no room there for a wood shop. Therefore, I am looking to sell my equipment locally here in the Detroit area. (cast iron is too heavy / expensive to ship).

Shop Lights hijacked.

Some of you will remember my rant, whine, crying... whatever you want to call it about my phillips T8 bulbs, and how short they last. I just pulled 2 out of my troffers, The sharpie writing indicates they were installed on 4/25 or 26 /16. So they too didn't last long. Don't buy phillips ...

Mobilizing the shop

My shop is in the back half of my garage which I separate from my parked vehicles, somewhere along the measurements of 22 x 10. I decided to make things movable and want to read ideas from others what you did for mobility.
