There are 7,800,000,000 people in the world. We'll assume a generous life expectancy of 100 years.
Assuming an even age distribution across the population, 1/100 of the population is going to die every year.
So, regardless of heroic measures, 78,000,000 people are going to age-out anyway. This is the group most likely to succumb to the virus.
So instead of diving the world economy into the shitter and bankrupting millions of small businesses along the way, maybe we should just apply public restrictions to old fossils until we have a vaccine/cure?
