Why do circuit breakers go up for on and down for off?

Well, Joe did try his best to completely empty it of Tatars and replace them with ethnic Russians...

People in sw Louisiana mostly spoke Cajun French until WWII, when draftees were taught English. There are still some Cajun speakers and a distinct Cajun accent.

I think the residents have decided several times. Independence would be their preference, with Russia as a second choice.

At this point there is no going back. If in some rainbow and unicorn world Ukraine regained control of the Don Basin and Crimea, how do you think ethnic Russians would be treated? Something like the way the Soviets treated ethnic Germans on their way to Berlin?

Gotta give the Asians their chance.

"The same census shows that Russians comprised 58.32% of the population, Ukrainians 24.32%, Crimean Tartars 12.1%, Byelorussians 1.4%, Tartars

0.54%, Armenians 0.43%, Jews 0.22%, Greeks 0.15%. Few in number but still visible in their culture are Karaites and Kymchaks. About 77% of Crimeans claim Russian as their native language."

The Ukrainians are outlawing the Russian language, burning books by Russian authors, and attacking the Russian Orthodox church. That 58.32% would have to be crazy to want to be under Zelensky's thumb.

They had no choice about that. It was never going to be possible to stop that.

The Normans invaded Ireland LONG before that.

Different matter entirely.

We'll see if Putin's invasion of the Ukraine fails as badly as his attempt at invading Georgia did.

Don't need rainbows or unicorns. Russia couldnt even manage to keep what it had in Afghanistan.

They would be allowed to f*ck off back where they came from just like those who moved into the Baltic countrys were.

Nope, nothing like.

Bullshit they are.

Bullshit they are.

But most of them have moved there from Russia and would be free to f*ck off back where they came from.

Not Churchill. He wanted to carry on the war and drive the Russians out of Europe, Roosevelt overruled him, and left Russia a world power and pushed Britain into decline.

He spent the next decade trying to wake the Americans up. Until NATO was finally created.

Rod Speed is very...er...ignorant and opinionated.

I t9ld you not to beleive Russian propaganda.

The reason there are so many Russians now is that they drove the Ukrainians out post 2014 and made huge incentives for Russians to move there.

They have mostly gone back to Russia now.

Says the clown that proclaimed that if the UK even dared to consider Brexit, it would be Leopard tanks thru the Chunnel in hours.

That sound dangerously Popperian.

When it comes the the Ukrainian clown you both have gulped down the same Kool-Aid.

A little bitterness there? Listing the best US presidents is a difficult task; Roosevelt certainly wasn't one of them. In a pool of mediocrities he stands out as one of the more devious fools.

No one knows everything.

For some reason Roosevelt wanted to upstage Churchill and be pals with Uncle Joe.

So he gave him Poland. Betraying the trust that the Poles had in us.

And Russia exacted revenge.

They had already done their ethnic cleansing

Even today there are plenty of people in the Right of the USA who think 'Russia isn't our problem'

It is and it always has been.

Not Popperian. More Hume who formalised the 'problem of induction'.

Expressing what to day we would call a one to many relationship between phenomena and *possible* causes, thereof.

If only people were taught this at school, they wouldn't get so bogged in conspiracy theories.

I think rather its you that have gulped the pre packaged Russian koolaid.

Are you a fan of 'Donbas Devushka', the pro Russian troll who turns out to be a bitter fired ex military US servicewoman sacked for lying. And not the Russian from the Donbas, as she claimed?

I really think you should watch the videos of Russians beheading Ukrainian captives, and shooting them in cold blood, and admitting to killing women and children on orders from their officers.
