Why do circuit breakers go up for on and down for off?

That's what ours is derived from.

'you bugger' is common between men here.

Speaking of hell, how come when some shooter murders a bunch of people, no one ever talks about how he's going to hell for doing that. Maybe hell forever, maybe burning in hell forever.

I though that was one of the roles of hell, to discourage sin. How come NO ONE seems to mention it at times like yesterday and last week and last month, etc? Maybe they talk about it in church and Sunday school but I'm talking about TV when discussing a shooting. The people who do these things don't go to church or Sunday school but the ones thinking about doing it, maybe even getting inspiration from news stories about other shootings, do watch TV. No one in any role on TV ever points out that murderers will end up in hell.

Which hell?

Because they were never actually stupid enough to buy that mind f*ck.

My mother had heard stories of parents tormenting their left-handed kids to make them right-handed and she didn't want to do that, so she just put the fork and glass or whatever where my right hand would find them. I presume that means I had left-handed tendencies or was truly left-handed or it wouldn't have been even thought of. Now I'm right-handed for everything except throwing a ball and bowling, more confirmation that I was born left-handed.

And my hand-writing is terrible. I can't even make a round O. I've given up on script and I print and sometimes can't read my own printing.

My mother thinks that my handwriting is bad because when I broke my leg in the 5th grade and was home for two weeks, and I didn't do the handwriting homework the teache sent home (the only stuff she sent) that's the reason I can't write right. I've never told her that it was settled by the end of 1st or 2nd grade.

I use my right hand for the mouse and have no problem. I bat right-handed. I wear a ball glove on my right hand but that's because I throw with my left.

Many were not, short of trimming the length of the antenna!!

IN NYCity, my apartment building and I'm sure most apartment buildings, rentals in general, used Fustats. It's an insert that screws into the original fuse holder (which I think used the same thread as a lightbulb), but the inserts have a different pitch internal thread for each amperage. So in the basement, I could only use one 20-amp Fustat, and in my apartment, I could only use two 15-amp Fustats.

Fustat was the first capital of Egypt under Muslim rule, and the historical centre of modern Cairo -- oops, wrong link.

$70 for 4?!. They weren't anywhere near this expensive in the 70's, even allowing for 70's prices. They only sell this one size, which seems to be 8 amps. What kind of a value is 8 amps? The ones that never sold out?

Menards has Cooper Bussmann® Tamper-Proof Fustat Heavy Duty Plug Fuse

6.25 amps for $4.88 each. What kind of a value is 6.25 amps?

I used to, had to power the whole 6-room apartments, including sometimes the last couple years a small air conditioner, on 20 amps. Only blew the fuse about 4 times.

No,not EVERY one - by a long shot. Many, yes - but NOT ALL. I have several without. One a transformer model and one a 5 tube AC DC

I'll look, I'll even open it up eventually, but like most of what I own, it's buried. I know where, but that doesn't help.

No, honey - the OTHER roght!!!

A lot of meccano motors were "clockwork" or "keywinf".

I still have a Model 50 Jensen steem engine - the oldest steem engine company in the USA in continuous operation. Built in about 1954??

Blades are not flat - they are curved (airfoils) so are much more effective one way than the other

Our cat dialled 911 on pushbutton phone TWICE!!!!!

There's a river not too far from me called the Tchoutacabouffa River.

Just before I started the 4th grade, my teacher fell off of her horse and broke her right wrist, so for most of that school year she asked me to come up and write things for her. She kept a diary on each of the students, including me, so I had to make those entries, and of course I had to record all of the test grades, etc. Why me? I had the best handwriting of anyone in grades 1-4. The first 4 grades were in one classroom, and grades 5-8 were in the other classroom.

I live in the American South. We have you, y'all, and all y'all, for increasing levels of plural you.

That is sadly, because most English people today are not taught English. They can't pronounce it, spell it, or use correct grammar.

An educated Indian speaks better English.

Wait till you hit Cockney rhyming slang or Polari. You'll be well cattled.

Should have been yjohnghee.

Try speaking Afrikaans in Holland, they will understand you, but laugh.
