What's the best way to get rid of tile adhesive on a ceramic bathtub. I'm nervous about damaging the finish.

Probably turpentine or mineral spirits,neither will harm a porcelain BT finish. Pay attention to ventilation and ignition sources. Or you could try GooGone or GoofOff.
