Careful what you say as I drove one just like that (my station wagonwas baby blue color) for about 4 years. I kept it immaculate and Inever had any accident but it was flimsy because I could dent it incertain places with a good punch with my fist. Also my carburetorcame loose twice. It was also noted for it's acceleration.... thatis if you step on the gas pedal and count to about 10, you will seesome acceleration. I remember my mom who wasn't a fast driver ask meif it accelerated after she had to use the car. I think I seriouslytold her to count to 10 or so then. That may seem dangerous but youlearn to compensate for it after a while. It was good on gas but Idon't remember what it got because gas wasn't a costly item then.

Nader was an opportunistic hack that created a hazard that wasn't there. The VW Beetle was a far worse handling car that would go tits up in a heart beat but Ralph went after the corvair. I guess it looked like it was too much fun.

Only Ralph Nader believed that. My '62 Corvair Monza handled very well and was fun to drive. I also walked away after I was broadsided by a Mack truck

Absolutely great car. I had a 61, 64, 65. Lots of fun. Ralph was completely off base.

Perhaps Ralph Nader was an early version of the "no fun" liberal progressives who now inhabit and control the US?

Anything that's fun, or which works properly and does a good job is therefore verboten.
