I have food stains on silk fabric covering dining chairs. Any suggestions?

To remove stains from silk, add 1/2 cup of mild detergent and two teaspoons of white vinegar to two quarts of cold water. Do not soak the material in this solution. Rinse well and then roll the garment in a towel and iron while it is still damp.
