spine fin coil or copper tube alum fin

Feedback on advantages and dis-advantages of each type a/c coil types would be greatly appreciated? how hard is it to clean spine fin coils? Trane or Carrier which do you choose and why? Switch now to r410a or wait till the next (if any) replacement? Thanks to all who have feedback!!

They both work...

A bitch...unless you have acess to the proper cleaning materials, and even then, a total bitch.

Neither. An educated consumer does not buy name brand, as it means little to nothing...other than how well its marketed. The installation, correct sizing, and company that installs and standsbehind it means more than anything...

Look in the mirror....if you have test animal written on a band on your neck, R410a is the stuff for you... otherwise, R22 is the refrigerant to stick with, particuarly since the ban does not go into effect until 2025.....

The replacement for R22 is here. ITs not R410. The last time that Carrier came out with a replacement refrigerant, (R500) it lasted about 4 years...and R410 is rapidly falling out of favor with those in the trades. Let me put it to you this way...I dont own but ONE set of R410 gauges, and tanks, and recovery machine. I wont buy more. Not till about 2011, and thats only if we need to, as I personally feel that R410 is going to be replaced, but wont ever go away...
