Semi OT: Realtors Who Offer Seller-Finance on Their Own Properties

Jul 11, 2005 1 Replies

Just wondering if anyone here is savvy enough to give insight into why realtors, when they sell their own properties, often offer owner-financing. Is this a good, bad, or indifferent sign? Or just a measure of their desire to get the home off their hands....?

Profit. Ever notice the big buildings that banks and insurance companies have? You paid for them with the interest on your mortgage interest. If the realtor has the cash to hold a mortgage, he is going to make the money instead of the bank.
