OT. Automatic Emergency Braking

Once I heard of a TV you can watch while driving. If uses a projector that makes it look like the screen is on top of the car in front of you.

That often works with reduced speed limits too. I start letting up on the gas at a "reduced speed ahead" sign and often don't need the brake.

I've seen a bunch on those things called "If Microsoft Made Cars". Once a week, you'd be told to remove and reinstall the engine to get it going again.

BTW, there were other lists, like "Reasons Why Beer is Better than Jesus". You don't have to wait 2000 years for another beer.

I often see them on roads that approach the signal on a curve, where drivers can't see the signal until it's too late.

The ones I've seen look like this:

We were flyin' down the freeway in the rain when Dad noticed that the '62 (I think) was hydroplaning ... in front ! He backed out of the throttle gently until he felt the front wheels regain contact with the pavement . Got real scary there for a minute !

The front end is light. The stock tires were 6.50 x 13. I put on 7.00 x 13. I put snow tires on in winter and it was fantastic.

There was an accessory block from J C Whitney that you put under the shift lever to shorten the stroke. The bucket seats were comfy too, but I was much younger then too.

You know things are going bad when you're flyin' down the freeway in the rain and you feel a little something a split second before the cruise control turns itself off. DAMHIKT

I don't think I've ever had a car new enough to turn itself off!

OTOH, you shouldn't use cruise in the rain anyhow.

I don't like touchscreens either. I seee why they are there, but I hope I don't kill someone.

Ironically my volume, station, and band are on the steering wheel now. From one extreme to the other.

There is an intersection like that around here. They put the warning p a few days after the new (crossing) highway was built. That had been the worst (most collisions) intersection around here, when people were used to not stopping.
