Hello, When this toilet is filling......right at the point where the water is starting to shut off......it starts to squeal really loud. Just started doing this in last 2 days. It is the type with a ballcock and float. Thanks for any info. Dan.

When the rubber gets old it hardens. Buy a rebuilding kit and replace the rubber parts in the valve. Or pull the assembly out and replace it with a Fluid Master.

ya, just replace it. they are cheap enough that rebuilding them isnt hardly worth it. get those small ones that dont have a 'float'. cost about 10-15 bucks. a new one will last 5-10+ years without having to be messed with again.
these things seem to have a sort of 'radioactive decay' like faucets. every time you replace the washer it will leak again in 25% the time it took it to start leaking the last time.

the valve is vibrating and this is what causes the noise... probably worn, put in a new ballcock.... how about a fluid master....
I like fluidmaster too for the ballcock and keep the instructions on cleaning out debris.
Thanks for all of the info. Dan.
