Maytag PAV3240AWW spin cycle

Ok the washer will spin just fine with no clothes or very few clothes in it, as soon as you put in a decent size load it spins really slow, i replaced the belt (only one on this unit) and cleaned the surface of the drive pulley. Still the washer spins at a slower speed than it should (the clothes come out wet, no water in the tub thought so the pump is working) if i take and monkey with the speed selection while in the spin cycle i can get the thing to spin up but it won't maintain it.

I was wondering if it is the motor or if there is some sort of relay that could be going bad. When changing the speed during the spin cycle there is a noticable change between the slow and fast settings but in fast is doesn't allways spin up.

If this is a front load washer you may have a problem with the motor control board.
