Lennox manual thermostat Stg settings

Dec 03, 2004 1 Replies

On a 25 year old Lennox manual thermostat, what should the Stg.1 and 2 reostat levers be set to? Any approximate starting point settings would be appreciated. The thermostat is connected to a A/C heater roof unit.

Your "reostat" is actually called a heat anticipator. It needs to be set with a miliamp meter. Every single system is different including 2 identical units. Set it too low and you will burn out the anticipator(s), set it too high and you will have wide temperature swings. Once it's set you usually don't have to worry about it. A good service tech will check it and set it during your anual cleaning/service. Have them set it while they are there.
