Electric baseboard heater question

Jan 12, 2004 24 Replies

Someone in this group asked about sidewalk heated mats in the last three weeks or so. Amazon has some heated door mats. I wonder if one of those could be wrapped around your tank.

I don't know how big the tank is, but it may be possiable to wrap some of the heat tape around it and insulate it. The tape usually has a thermostat on it so it will cut off if the temperature goes high enough.

There is also some heat tape that is self regualting and will draw little current when hot enough. Just do not get it mixed up with the tape that does not regulate and heats all the time.

Replace your magnetic contactor with a solid state relay - or possibly rubber mount the magnetic contactor in a soundproof box. Those beggars are NOISY.
