Basement wall crack sealants

I have been told the polyurethane (from Sika, also sold as radon sealant) you squeezed from the inside into the outside towards the inside using "ports" works really well. I was planning to use it.



But I did a quick fix of putting three bricks under the crack as a well to hold the water (and a tube to take it to the drain). I attached the bricks using a slather of Loctite PL polyurethane and the area around the bricks has been wet a lot longer than without any sealant (ie the bricks just sitting there waiting for project). Now I applied the polyurethane about 12hrs before the rain leak, and polyur sez 1 wk to cure, and they say it bonds better when wet. So in a week, will it be waterproof?



Some folks insist elastomer or silicone are preferrable. So, I'm tempted to put a dab of sealant on a small piece of tubing and some dye on the other side and compare the sealants side by side. But I wanna know the real underlying experimental variables in order to do that right.



Polyuethane sealants (generally) cure with moisture. Early moisture cure polyurethanes contained isocyanates (nasty stuff) but the latest products are isocyanate free. The port injected polyurethanes are (when properly applied) about the best possible method of sealing cracks in poured concrete foundations
