insecticide as deer repellent?

Apr 06, 2004 1 Replies

i'm having a dual problem, deer and bugs eating my plants. i've used deer repellent with some success, it claims to work by smelling bad and tasting bad (to deer).

would a garden insecticide like sevin dust work in both roles, as a deer and a bug repellent? surely it cannot taste or smell very good to a deer.

any thoughs are appreciated

It's worth a try as long as you mix it for small insects it really shouldn't hurt the deer. Don't use it around peonie's tho.
