My electric Tempstar tx5300 defrosts even when it is not real cold? Does it have a thermostat or timed defrost? Can it be changed so it defrosts less frquently?? T4H336GKA200

Depends on if its time/temp or demand defrost. The unit can require defrost mode to run even around 40F if the humidity is real high. Need a lot more information....
