I heard about an insect trap made from the yellow plastic lid of a particular brand of coffee. The yellow color is supposedly perfect for attracting insects. Anyone know what brand of coffee this refers?
Petroleum jelly (better) or cooking oil is smeared on the lid and hung in the garden. By inspecting the lid of captured insects, you get a heads up on what flying insects are invading your garden (to lay eggs) and what to look out for in the next two weeks.
