Sealing plasterboard top and bottom

Jan 20, 2006 1 Replies

Single story extension built with vaulted ceiling all approved building regs.

In colder weather noticing a lot of air blowing out of holes in plasterboard (cut out for sockets)

Roof construction: tiled, waterproof membrane, air gap, 90mm celotex insulation, plasterboard

Wall plasterboard is dabbed all over so I assume air is coming in at roof area and down walls.

Have read Kingspan insulation giving installation details of continuous board adhesive top and bottom of plasterboard, is this standard or build reg requirement?

Any info on this appreciated.....

Insulating is different from draught proofing. Attic rooms are very draughty due to all the places air gets into the loft.
