Press releases should be sent to every possible publication that is
remotely connected with your type of product. They'll *all* throw it
away because you are not a name company, or offering something that is
clearly both useful and unique. In short, a press release is useless
to getting any press coverage until you are known.
Advertising is what ever you can afford. Since you have not indicated
