Closed-cell foam insulation

Dec 19, 2008 3 Replies

My old partner is working some Ike aftermath jobs in Galveston and has a client that is interested in closed-cell foam insulation. Ex-partner has no idea how to price it. Is there a price/sq. foot number that will get him in the ballpark?

perhaps he should call the folks who sell and install the stuff.

just a thought.....

As Steve said, check with the installers. If the client is talking spray foam, it takes special equipment and price will depend on availability of folks with equipment and training. T

He or you could Google the product / installation and get a SWAG price.

But without contacting an installation sub it would pretty rough..... depends on the current local construction costs / activity.

A few calls & he'd have a resoanble answer.

I'd figure about $3 / sq ft to fill a 2x4 framed wall but that might be way too much R value. Pricing would depend on thickness desired, size of the job(s),........

My SWAG might be a little high but I doubt its low by much.

Spray foam is great stuff but its not cheap.

cheers Bob
