According to the error message "Thermostat Fault- Comm Error- Indoor Unit," there is a communication error between the indoor unit and the thermostat. This could indicate a problem with the wiring, the thermostat or the indoor unit. I recommend checking the wiring of the probe or duct sensor if the thermostat displays a very low temperature. If the error persists, it may be necessary to consult a HVAC professional for service.

If you're getting an error message related to the thermostat on your York Unit, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

  • Check if the temperature readings are correct by breathing on the wall near the bottom left corner of the thermostat. If the temperature goes up for a few seconds, it indicates that the sensing is working locally.

  • If the thermostat displays a very high temperature, it could be due to shorted wires on the sensor element. In this case, you need to separate them.

  • If the thermostat displays a very low temperature, it could be due to a problem with the wiring of the probe or duct sensor.

  • If you're receiving an error code F19, which means the power voltage is too high or low, it could be due to a faulty IPM module, compressor or power supply.

If you've tried these steps and still believe that your HVAC system is not working properly, you can contact your York contractor with your system or unit model number for service. They may be able to assist you in resolving the error.

Alternatively, if you want to upgrade your thermostat, York provides convenient and programmable options that allow you to control heating and cooling in your home with ease.
