Hi all, I want to extend a patio on a new house - this will take it into the garden where it will be a bit above the ground (the garden falls away). So I was going to build a little wall 2 or 3 bricks high with the perimeter slabs resting on it - like you would for a riser on steps. The Ridgeons guy refused to advise me because this is not the intended use for bricks (sitting in the soil). But what about walls of houses below the DPC - it's not too different to that, surely? I thought as long as I used FL or F2 bricks I should be OK? What am I misunderstanding?
Maybe I should just "bank" up the lawn to meet the height of the edge but it is a tad high to start doing that.
p.s. I didn't want to use expensive bradstone etc blocks because it isn't really a scenic part of the garden.
