a supplier of cylinders and other bits there is a lot to be said for that the latter don't make cylinders, rather they sell Newark cylinders.

Have you considered a thermal store, rather than just a hot water cylinder? This does mean more work, but the benefits are worthwhile.

Sounds like you should convert all your cold fittings, other than the kitchen tap, so that they are not supplied from the mains.
