Im considering using this Screwfix special on an upcoming job. I would like to hear about any experiences with the Volex product and if posable a picture of one installed so i can see how much wiring space there is inside the unit.

The MK one that screwfix do is considerably bigger than the Volex. Liked it lots.

Avoid. Poor design and tight on space inside. I had two sent, both arrived with the case broken in some way. In the end I used the Wylex kit, much nicer MCBs, more space.
Our Electrician was suitably impressed with the Wylex one. He commented on plenty of space etc.
Consider the Contactum. Loads of room for wiring in there.
I can also recommend the Crabtree Starbreaker. Stacks of room and plenty of busbar space. Also, well protected live busbar so as safe as they come to work on 'live'.
Sounds like the Contactum. There's a busbar cover that only needs to be removed if actually removing/installing MCBs. I don't know if everyone has this as standard now, though.
Christian.
The Crabtree uses spade connectors which fit through a slot in the insulation so the MCBs can be safely fitted or removed with the busbar live.
If i was costing this job at a higher price i would install a Crabtree Starbreaker unit as i have been to a recent installation of a Starbreaker unit and they are quite good quality in my eyes. And the new one is better than the old Starbreaker in my house with an RCCB as main switch and no space in the actual unit. This is a just above materials price job so the Volex unit looked rather appealing to me. At work we use Hager,MEM and Seimens units but only metalclad units with switch disconnectors used in streetlighting feeder pilliars.
