Raising lost tank - cheapest option?

Hi there, I'm planning to raise the cold feed tank in the loft another 4 -5 ft higher to help with the shower performance.

The tank has 3 x 22mm connections - one to feed cold, one to feed hw cylinder, one to the CH header (as overfow) and one 15mm inlet - all pipes are copper.

Given the price of 22mm copper, what's the cheapest way I can extend all 4 pipes?

Thanks!

The subject line made me expect something about salvage operations off the Normandy beaches.

Use plastic. It is also quicker and easier. Don't forget that every outlet should have an isolator valve in it close to the cistern.

The cistern should also be fitted with a light and insect proof lid and have insect proof screens on the overflow pipe and air inlet vent. If you are using it to feed a shower, the anti-legionella precautions are particularly important.

Including the overflow pipe :-)

I seem to remember that used to be called a bylaw 30 kit. I am not sure if the name has changed though.

Possibly not the cheapest option, but a shower pump would give a more predictable improvement in performance.

And there I was imagining that your lost tank was something with a large gun on the top, and some tracks below it, and that it had fallen into some unheard of harbour. You've disappointed me

I was wondering if it was a continuation of the "I've found a cellar!" thread.

The alternative is to call it a Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations Kit, so most people still call it a Water Byelaw Kit.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold. I remember Simon saying something like:

Pity; here's a Lost Tank...
