outhouse boiler

Playing with new infra red thermometer toy (see other thread) shows the top plate of my oil boiler running at 116 deg C.

Now with an in-house boiler this heat would still heat the house but as it is an out-house model (Grant BoilerHouse range) this heat is being wasted heating a barn which is currenty at 2 deg C.

Does anybody know if it's okay to wrap a boiler in Rockwool to stem some of this heatloss ?
