American style double fridge

Can anyone recommend a particular good reliable brand for an American Style double fridge? I have been looking at Admiral and Samsung.

TIA

We have had a Samsung for about 5 years, only 1 problem with the defrost heater, quite inexpensive to repair parts were about =A335. we bought the model with a cold water feature ,never use it.You may have to remove the fridge doors to get it into place, again quite easy to do.

Our Whirlpool has been OK, a little noisy but I think they all are.

We've had a Samsung for about 4 years - the ice maker and cool water are great. No problems, although I'd like a fridge that has an alarm for when the circuit trips out as it did the other day - no-one noticed for

4 hours.

Actually, on reflection it has a really dumb design feature. There are digital displays showing temperatures for both the freezer and the fridge but these are the temperatures that are set, rather than the actual temperature. If the temp goes out of limits I think something flashes and an alarm sounds - but it would have been relatively easy to display measured temp (averaged over a period of time) as well as set temp. If I were buying again I would look for this capability.

Another minor niggle is that things at the top of the fridge section can freeze because it seems to work by blowing air from the freezer into the fridge - but I assume they all work that way.

Are these now cheaper than 2x UK ones side by side?

This would cause a flood of complaints and concerns as temps rise significantly at times, hence why they didnt do it.

We've had a whirlpool for the past year have been very pleased with it. Niggles : every now and again it's noisy. It tends to freeze stuff in the bottom fridge compartment. We use the water dispenser daily and had to replace the filter after 9 months @ £40. No problems with ice maker. I like the alarms on it - very handy with a 5 year old who pushes buttons from time to time !
