Trench over Leach Field

I would like to run a shallow (~ 4" deep) 3/4" water line across my leach field. This water line would run parallel to the perforated pipe that is buried in the field. Is this something I can do as long as I don't damage the perforated pipe?

Thanks in Advance,

I have a similar case where I needed a water spigot about 100ft away from the house also going across a drain field. Fortunately I knew where the pipes were. This extension actually connect to the old plumbing through a short length of water hose with a male coupling on each end dimilar to that on a clothes washer. far end of the pipe is terminated in large piec of concrete sewer pipe buried verically in the ground. I the witer I disconnect the hose and open the valve to drain the pipe. Probably should have an anti-syphon device on it. Pipe was about 4 inches deep like yours. Have had no problems

IF you only go down 4", you should be able to ignore the leach field. If you worry about such things, make most of your run over the "high" side of the field. The actual drain piles are level so where the ground is high there is more soil over the drain pipes.
