Hi! I`m new to this group!

I have this Sand Blasting Gun:

And a 2 Horse power compressor that has a 6 gallon tank (25lts)

The problem is that i cant work for much time before I loose pressure.

Do you think I can solve this problem by getting a 100lts tank with the same engine?

Regards!

Your compressor should have a rating plate showing CFM @ PSI .

Your blaster needs 11.5 avg. SCFM requirement at 90 PSI.

You are probably going to have a short cycle of blasting , then waiting for the compressor to recharge.

I dont think a bigger tank will do much for you, the compressor pump is the limiting factor.

The bigger tank will take longer to charge , but would then give you a longer work time but then a longer recharge time between work periods.

No. It will give you a little more time, but it will take even longer to re-charge. There is no real substitute for the CFM you get from a larger compressor. You are probably putting about 4 to 5 CFM into the tank, but using a tool that takes out 11CFM.

You won't solve the problem, but you will make it last longer before you have to wait. BUT you'll have to wait longer also.
