Quartz Countertops

We have a friend who installed Zodiaq, that costs as much as the finest granite, and after three years it has faded, has edge chipping, and some quartz particles have popped out of surface. The problem with these products is they are basically plastic matrix with imbedded rock, with all of plastics inherent weaknesses and problems, besides being fake. Go for the real thing - granite.

Cons: It chips, especially vulnerable is the edge above the dishwasher.

Pros: You can put hot pots directly on it. (Which you can't do to Corian.)
