Hampton Bay Motion Lights

Hello all,
Does anyone know if the Exterior Hampton Bay Motion Lights can be repaired. The Light comes on if the motion part is bypassed, but the motion mechanism appears to be broken. Can the motion mechanish be swapped out? Is it sold anywhere?

Go to home depot where the light was purchased and ask them.

Where do I get a Hampton Bay Sensor part, so I can save the light by replacing fixing the sensor? What is David Nebenzahl email address?

Look for the thread "Motion light turns on for a few seconds after inside lights switched off" and you'll see him or he will see this.
He may not see you directly as he might spam block either hot-mail or google-groups. I edited them both with a - so if he scans for that, this message will pass through. He's I think in San Antonio.
As to where to get the sensor, probably same place you got the light? Or any 'Home Depot/ other big hardware store' should have them. We have one with a bad sensor so when he posted that someone else's problem was apt to be that, we asked how to replace one. Looks real simple, easier than replacing the unit in this case.

Cshenk sure loves to see himself in print! His info is worthless and doesn't provide any factual info! I have the same problem and found that the light is actually a Heath Zenith light. They told me they don't have any repair parts and to contact Home Depot. The Heath Zenith light has a 5-year warranty in the owner's manual. This page is left blank in the Hampton Bay manual which is otherwise the same manual. Home Depot customer service didn't know what the warranty is and referred me to their supplier, Cordelia Lighting, who also didn't seem to know what the warranty is. They did send me a motion detector unit, but it was for a different light. When I called again they told me the light was discontinued, and that seemed to end it for them. When I asked them what to do, I was not given any answer, so I think I'll take it back to Home Depot and see if they will take it. They still have this light on the shelf and it's sold by many online stores. Bottom line, you MIGHT be able to get a part from Cordelia Lighting, but don't hold your breath. Cshenk should go back to writing children's books!
