As a followup to my post here on 2003-04-08, plus to put it in the public domain, I have figured out how to program my old watering system and so present the instructions below:
Automatic watering system Hydro Rain HR six thousand
reverse engineered instruction manual
Panel:
----------------------------------------------
rain| | day time prog| | |-| |--------| |--| auto|_| |_| |____:___| |__| start run stn off on
1SUN | |x | ------------------------ 2MON | |x | | run | run | run | man | 3TUE | |x | |time |time |time | on | 4WED | |x | | 1 | 2 | 3 | | 5THU | |x | ------------------------ 6FRI | |x | | run | run | run | man | 7SAT | |x | |time |time |time | off | | 4 | 5 | 6 | | select |x | | ------------------------ |_|day |first|secon|third| ^ + | |start|start|start| | | |time |time |time |chang| ------------------------ | set | set | set | | - | | min | hr. | day | V | ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Instructions:
Upon mode set to 'auto', the system will run through each circuit (of which there are 6, being wires leading to a solenoid valves) in turn when the time of day equals the various 'start time's, for the 'run time' durations.
To set the time: set mode to 'prog', then press 'set min' (or hr. or day) with + or - buttons.
To activate manual sprinkling, in mode = 'auto' press 'run time' for desired circuit with 'man on', to stop press 'man off'.
To set run time, press 'run time' for desired circuit with '+' or '-' buttons.
To set start time(s), press a 'start time' button with '+' or '-' buttons. (this does only hours, anyone know how to set minutes as well?)
Best to leave 'select day' off, and days 1 to 7 on.
Cheers,
Sandy
