Gas logs remote works but when I turn it on it turns Rite back off

I got a new set of gas logs n.g. .. The remote works but when I turn it on it turns rite back off .. battery are new. I hooked it up to the old set of logs and it works like it should . Don't know what to do from here . Please help . Thanks
