Talking of plugs

I find myself shortening more cables than I extend,once an item has had its location settled the flex is shortened to suit. I just cant stand the mess caused by excess cables which all too easily become a pit of snakes or loops of cable jammed behind something.

It used to be more common for hand-built things. These days a lot of things are machine made and the plugs are moulded onto the cable in the factory. Or the factory buys in pre-cut bare-end cable with a pre-moulded plug, or a detachable cable with moulded plugs on both ends. In each case I imagine the moulding can be done by machine, while screwing on a plug must be done by hand.

But maybe if you buy a small volume thing made in a shed maybe some still have rewireable plugs?
